The sandbox experience of Minecraft is limitless and offers enjoyment for nearly everyone. From surviving and achieving milestones to constructing stunning edifices, there exists an almost infinite array of activities to engage in, including experimenting with Redstone mechanisms.
I have been engaged with Minecraft since its beta phase, and although I have experimented with Redstone, it has consistently been an intimidating aspect of the gameplay. This red material has the potential to create fully functional computers, and I lack the knowledge to construct even a basic circuit, but today that will change as we explore some straightforward Redstone-powered farms that are easily comprehensible.
This cultivation method is not only uncomplicated but also visually appealing, thanks to the array of flowers and bees thriving within. By placing observers above the hives with Redstone on top, the dispensers filled with shears behind them will deplete the hives of their honey whenever they reach capacity, with the hoppers directing the honey into barrels at the rear.
While honey may not have numerous applications, it is beneficial to have readily available for waxing any of the exquisite copper blocks. You can even enhance the aesthetic of this farm by providing the bees with a spacious enclosure filled with flowers, as they will pollinate regardless of the size of their environment and subsequently return to their hives at the day's end.
Wool Cultivation
When it comes to procuring infinite blocks, there is no superior method than befriending a sheep. Utilizing this farm allows for the placement of a little woolly companion in a controlled habitat, where it will consume grass indefinitely while its wool is continuously sheared using dispensers and observers, with the collection facilitated by a hopper minecart through the grass block.
The most advantageous aspect of this system is that it necessitates merely one sheep, which will never require feeding or breeding, as the grass block will naturally regenerate over time. Given its economical nature, you can also effortlessly construct multiple units adjacent to one another with sheep of varying colors, yielding hundreds of wool blocks to create any whimsical designs your imagination conjures.
XP Smelting Farm
Enchanting all your tools and armor sets can become quite costly with higher enchantment levels, making an XP farm essential. This particular setup, however, serves a dual purpose. By employing hoppers and a comparator coupled with basic Redstone behind a smoker, you can swiftly cook food while automating two functions with a single apparatus.
All that is required is some food item, such as potatoes, to be placed in the top chest along with a fuel source in the second chest. This farm functions not only as an auto cooker but also, by simply pulling a lever and collecting a single item from the smoker, enables you to retrieve all the accumulated XP from every item that has been cooked in one go.
Animal Crusher
As a vegetarian, I should likely forego this particular option; however, if you are in search of a convenient food source, look no further than this entirely humane animal 'farm. ' With a straightforward configuration comprising a hopper adjacent to a chest and a piston to relocate a block, you can entice two of any animal of your preference into the designated area and then drop them into the pit, where they will spend the remainder of their brief existence being bred.
Thanks to the entity cramming mechanic, once an excess of animals accumulates in the pit, one of them will begin to take damage until it perishes, causing its drops to fall into the hopper below. For animals such as chickens, they will even automatically produce eggs for your use, eliminating the need for breeding and perpetuating the endless cycle of chickens akin to a fast-food establishment.
Sugar Cane / Bamboo Farm
This farm aims to provide you with an endless supply of paper and wood through two frequently overlooked resources: sugar cane and bamboo. Since both bamboo and sugar cane grow vertically as long as water is nearby, you can effortlessly establish a farm that harvests them once they reach a specific height, with the water cleverly concealed behind the Redstone.
The Redstone employed here consists of an observer and piston combination that permits the observers to detect whenever something has grown before them, thereby powering the Redstone behind it and activating the pistons to eliminate the crops. Beneath this mechanism, a Minecart hopper moves back and forth, collecting the items from above and automatically depositing them into a central chest.
One of the most valuable resources that is both swift and somewhat difficult to obtain without venturing on a mining expedition is iron; fortunately, there are efficient methods to farm it. This iron farm utilizes the village's spawning Iron Golems and processes an infinite number of them into Iron Ingots, primed for your next armor set.
Initiating the setup five blocks above ground prevents the Iron Golems from spawning directly on the ground, and this farm employs a simple four Redstone repeater clock. Each repeater is set to the fourth position, causing a piston to push a Zombie towards confined Villagers, thus enhancing the rate at which Iron Golems spawn. Subsequently, with lava contained by four signs, the Golems spawn and are directed into the lava, resulting in their iron dropping into the hoppers.
