Maserati reintroduced its illustrious racing lineage to American terrain with the U. S. introduction of the Maserati GT2 Racing Vehicle at the GT America empowered by AWS season finale, taking place at the renowned Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Trident brand's presence signified a return to its triumphant history and an affirmation of intent for the future of Maserati Corse.

A Contemporary Homage to Maserati’s Racing Heritage

Having recently concluded a championship-winning season in the Fanatec GT2 European Series, the Maserati GT2 arrived in Indianapolis decorated with a special tribute livery inspired by the historic Maserati 8CTF—the vehicle that famously triumphed at the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940 under driver Wilbur Shaw.

This emblematic design bridged Maserati’s rich motorsport legacy with its innovative future. From the rich amaranth hue of the 8CTF to the carbon-fiber construction of the GT2, the Italian marque once more showcased its distinctive fusion of tradition, performance, and craftsmanship.

Maserati GT2: The Revival of the Trident on the Circuit

The Maserati GT2 stands as the brand’s latest pure competition apparatus—a non-road-homologated GT2-class racer tailored for private teams and professional drivers.

Engineered around the same Nettuno twin-turbocharged V6 engine that powers the MC20 supercar, the GT2 delivers remarkable power, equilibrium, and aerodynamic effectiveness.

Now officially type-certified and progressing through U. S. homologation, the GT2 is anticipated to participate in GT America and various international series starting in 2026.

Key Features of Maserati G2

- Twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine producing over 621 hp (463 kW)

- Lightweight carbon-fiber chassis and advanced aerodynamics

- New traction control and race-specific suspension configuration

- GT2-class homologation for global competition

Maserati GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema Join the Exhibition

In conjunction with the GT2 race vehicle, Maserati showcased two additional performance icons:

  • - Maserati GT2 Stradale – A road-legal evolution of the GT2 platform, merging the characteristics of the race vehicle with the elegance of the MC20.
  • - Maserati MCXtrema – The most powerful Maserati ever manufactured, limited to 62 units globally, featuring a 730-hp variant of the Nettuno V6 and presented in an eye-catching two-tone “Corse” livery.

Collectively, these models illustrate the full breadth of Maserati’s performance philosophy, from pure track supremacy to refined grand touring sophistication.

Maserati Community at the Brickyard

Throughout the GT America weekend (October 16–18), Maserati facilitated an engaging brand experience in the Fan Zone, permitting guests and enthusiasts to explore the brand’s latest advancements.

The Maserati Car Corral convened owners from across the U. S., celebrating design, performance, and passion. Highlights featured:

  • - Parade laps conducted by the new 2026 Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo Coupe
  • - MCXtrema hot laps, providing attendees an opportunity to experience Maserati’s ultimate track performance firsthand.

The occasion embodied Maserati’s objective to establish links between the racetrack and the highway, blending community, legacy, and performance in authentic Italian fashion.

Conclusion

The Maserati GT2’s introduction at Indianapolis Motor Speedway marks the resurgence of Maserati Corse in the United States—connecting the brand’s illustrious history to its electrified and competitive future.

As the GT2 gets ready to participate in U. S. grids in 2026, Maserati’s return to the Brickyard serves as a compelling reminder: the Trident remains true to its origins, and its fervor for racing radiates with renewed intensity.
