Yutong Bus, a prominent global manufacturer of electric buses, presented its electric bus lineup, featuring the EV Long-Life Technology recently.
This ensures a synchronized lifespan for both the vehicle and its battery, alongside the Link+ fleet management platform under the theme "Think Eco, Move Green" at Busworld Europe 2025 held in Brussels, Belgium.
At the exhibition, Yutong introduced four battery-electric bus models, tailored to address a diverse array of operational scenarios.
The company launched the EV Long-Life Technology, boasting a prolonged design lifespan of 15 years or 1.5 million kilometers, achieved through systematic advancements in three fundamental technologies: battery systems, electric motors, and electronic control systems.
During the event, Yutong garnered a total of seven awards, earning significant acknowledgment for its excellence in vehicle performance, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Notably, the Yutong U15 received the esteemed "Grand Award Bus," while the Daimler ECITARO and EBUSCO 3.0 secured the second and third positions, respectively.
U15 was honored with three additional accolades: the "Label of Excellence Safety Bus," "Label of Excellence Ecology Bus," and "Label of Excellence Design Bus," emphasizing its status as a benchmark product in the premium urban bus category.
The Yutong T14E was recognized with the "Grand Award Coach," with the Daimler SETRA S 515 HD and Yutong IC12E taking second and third places, respectively, while the Yutong IC12E also received the "Label of Excellence Ecology Coach. "
Furthermore, Yutong's Link+ fleet management system was awarded the Gold Prize at the Busworld Digital Awards, while ZF's BUS CONNECT and Bosch's SECURE CENTRAL GATEWAY earned the Silver and Bronze Awards, respectively.
Design and Build
Yutong Bus showcased four series of battery electric buses at Busworld Europe 2025, catering to various applications, including urban trunk transport, intercity travel, and premium coach tourism, thereby demonstrating the core competitiveness of its high-end product portfolio.
The 14-meter ultra-luxury battery electric tourist bus T14E is offered with options of 621 or 704 kWh batteries, providing a driving range of up to 850 kilometers.
It features 61 seats, an 8.5 cubic meters luggage compartment, a 360-degree surround sound system, and an NFC digital key for mobile phone access, thereby enhancing passenger comfort and convenience.
The coach is also equipped with a continuous damping control (CDC) system paired with air suspension for intelligent adaptive ride adjustments and a lift device for accessibility for passengers with disabilities.
The standard battery electric intercity coach IC12E, introduced globally at Busworld Europe 2025, incorporates a new generation of high-energy-density batteries with an energy consumption rate of 0.67 kWh/km under SORT2 conditions.
It provides a maximum range of 675 kilometers and accommodates a 25% climbing grade.
The dual high-power liquid-cooled charging stations enable a single charger to deliver 700A, while dual chargers can supply 1,400A, facilitating charging from 12% to 100% in approximately 1.2 hours.
The 15m premium city bus benchmark U15 achieves a maximum range of 850 kilometers under SORT2 conditions and can transport up to 90 passengers.
The vehicle is outfitted with the Link+ fleet management system, which allows for real-time visualization of operational data and offers safer, more efficient operational solutions for urban public transportation.
The event also showcased the introduction of U11DD and U12, further enhancing Yutong's diverse product portfolio within the European market.
Challenges Forward
While presenting its varied product offerings, Yutong is addressing concerns regarding the full lifecycle value of electric buses with the launch of EV Long-Life Tech.
Amid the ongoing trend of electrification, public attention has primarily centered on battery safety and vehicle dependability.
By advancing its core battery, motor, and control technologies, Yutong has developed a robust vehicle design with a lifespan of 15 years or 1.5 million kilometers of total mileage, making the concept of "coinciding lifespan of vehicle and battery" a tangible reality.
This innovation also yields broader societal advantages, including reduced carbon emissions, diminished resource dependency, and the promotion of a circular economy.
